Science Starters

Introduction: Young children are natural scientists. They ask hundreds of questions, love to explore all kinds of materials and will return to an activity that interests them again and again. In the 12-session program, we teach children simple science concepts that they can see, smell, touch and hear in their surrounding environment. We simply adopt and foster their curious attitude: ask questions, be willing to look for answers, explore and experiment.

With some hands-on science activities, simple science experiments and models, science readers (fiction and non-fiction) and games, children are given chances to develop skills and practise on:

  1. Observing
  2. Sorting and Classifying
  3. Asking Questions
  4. Predicting
  5. Experimenting
  6. Measuring and Estimating
  7. Designing and Making Models
  8. Finding Patterns and Relationships
  9. Communicating and Drawing Conclusions

The activities introduce young children to different areas of science: life, physical, and earth science and they investigate into some of the following topics: (depends on the grades)

Target Groups: Kindergarten 3
