Math Starter

Introduction: this is a 12-session course for math starters to explore and experiment (more accurately, 'play') with numbers, size, shape, measurement and the concept of magnitude. In a playful environment, children acquire and first explore important skills and concepts in math that include everything from single digit addition and subtraction to understanding place value and application of math concept in real life.

All the learners will learn to communicate about numbers through counting, reading and playing games. Math Starter includes activity ideas and games that help children to practise standard mathematical procedures, and apply mathematics in complex real-world situations. Children learn about (ordering and comparing) numbers, addition and subtraction, number patterns, shape and size, time & money and measurement. The course includes the following 6 essential areas:
